PALINDROM

PALINDROM is a term that describes something that reads the same forwards and backwards. Beginning and end reflect each other, opposites merge, and time and direction lose their linearity.
At first glance the two white columns on a black background appear equal and parallel, minimalist, clear, and calm. But on closer inspection their story becomes visible. The narrower, clean column represents the beginning, the new, the untouched. The wider, rougher column with a textured, fragmented surface represents the old, the mature, and the fading.
PALINDROM captures this moment in which similarity and difference exist at the same time. Beginning and end, new and old, clear and fragile stand in dialogue, showing how opposites shape and reflect each other.
